What is Mo Ghara Scheme?
The Mo Ghara Scheme sometimes referred to as “My Home,” attempts to improve the quality of life for rural impoverished people by transforming kutcha dwellings into pucca ones. The program, which would get Rs 2,150 crore over two years, represents the state government’s dedication to equitable growth and socioeconomic reform.
Objectives and Features
Mo Ghara Scheme is intended to assist families who have been turned away from housing programs due to insufficient funding or eligibility rules. Additionally, it provides aid to those who seek to improve or enlarge their homes but have previously received housing assistance of a lower value.
Beneficiaries of the credit-linked housing program, which is entirely funded by the state budget, can access up to Rs 3 lakh for their housing requirements. With a one-year initial moratorium term, this loan can be repaid over ten years in installments.
The state government’s subsidy is only released when the house is completed, ensuring the scheme’s efficiency. Four loan slabs with varied degrees of subsidy make up the distribution of the financial aid. Beneficiaries who fall under the SC/ST category and have special needs will receive an additional subsidy.
Releasing capital subsidies to the loan accounts of the program’s recipients, not only supports the development of affordable homes but also lessens their financial burden.
