Jharkhand Government Health Insurance
Health is a big problem in Jharkhand. Many babies don’t make it past their first year—about 71 out of 1,000. Mothers also face more dangers when giving birth than the national average. Most of the time, babies are born without doctors or nurses. Many women are sick due to low red blood cells, and lots don’t get enough food. Many kids get sick from diarrhea and lung infections, and only a few get all their shots. Most women don’t know about HIV/AIDS. So the Jharkhand government is trying hard to make people healthier. They made important health rules, hired medical workers, and set up health groups in villages. They created government health insurance to help poor people get medical care and increased the money they spend on health to make things better.
The objective of Jharkhand Government Health Insurance.
• Make sure poor people don’t go into debt because of medical bills.
• Let the community access health care with respect.
• Encourage people to seek health care by offering good care at a low cost.
• Make sure there are cheap and good health care services available.
• Make everyone feel like they own the health program, including the community.
• Get more private companies to invest in providing primary health care in the state.
The goal of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in Jharkhand is to give good healthcare to every person in the state, even in the farthest village, so that everyone in Jharkhand can be healthy and happy. – P.P. Sharma, Chief Secretary
Key features
The government in Jharkhand created a plan called the “Sarv Swasthya Mission” to improve healthcare. This plan wants to give good healthcare to everyone and help poor people. It also wants to get more money from the government and private companies to improve healthcare in faraway places. The plan had an interesting idea. It wanted all big companies to help pay for the insurance through corporate social responsibility (CSR). In 2005, the government signed a deal with TATA. TATA agreed to give Rs. 250 million (5.6 million US) every year for 30 years for health insurance. The government plans to do similar deals with other big companies in the state and also tax some mineral products to get more money.

• COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH PROGRAMME
• SUBSIDIZED INSURANCE COMPONENT

Conclusion
Jharkhand faces significant health challenges, especially for infants and mothers. The government is taking essential steps to provide better healthcare and reduce financial burdens on the poor. They introduced the “Sarv Swasthya Mission” and formed partnerships with companies like TATA to fund health insurance. These efforts aim to ensure comprehensive healthcare, empower communities, and create a subsidized insurance component. Overall, the government’s strategy focuses on improving healthcare accessibility and quality for all, with a strong emphasis on public-private collaboration and community ownership.
