As part of the Agra division, it encompasses six tehsils, namely Etmadpur, Agra, Kiraoli, Kheragarh, Fatehabad, and Bah, all of which operate under the administrative headquarters in Agra city.

Etmadpur Assembly Constituency: This Assembly constituency is one of the 403 constituencies in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, India. Etmadpur has been an integral part of the Agra Lok Sabha Constituency since its establishment in 1957, following the “DPACO (1956)” delimitation order. Subsequently, in 2008, after the “Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order,” it was designated as constituency number 86.
Agra Cantonment Assembly Constituency (Agra Cantt.): Agra Cantt. is another prominent Assembly constituency among the 403 in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. It has been a significant contributor to the electoral landscape of the Agra Lok Sabha Constituency since the inception of assembly elections in 1967. The specific identification number of this constituency was defined in the “Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order, 2008.” Additionally, the introduction of VVPAT (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) technology with EVMs was implemented in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh assembly polls.

Jalesar Assembly Constituency: Located in the Etah district, Jalesar has been an active participant in the democratic process, serving as one of the 403 constituencies in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. It has been part of the Agra Lok Sabha Constituency since its formation in 1957, following the “DPACO (1956)” delimitation order. Subsequently, in 2008, after the “Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order,” it was assigned constituency number 106.

During the 2019 elections, Satyapal Singh Baghel of the BJP represented the Agra Lok Sabha Constituency. By winning with 6,46,875 votes, he outperformed his BSP opponent Manoj Kumar Soni by a huge margin of 2,11,546 votes. Satyapal Singh Baghel, the current MP, has been crucial in advancing the causes of the people of Agra. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Agra Lok Sabha Constituency recorded a voter turnout of 59.18%.
