Many hits and misses over the year and I think content won in the end. Here are my favorites of the year:

1. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani - This was a complete entertainer with amazing performances by Ranvir Singh, Tota Roy Chowdhury, and Shabana Azmi.

2. Zwigato - This was a big Box Office Flop but a brilliant film by Nandita Das. 

3. 12th Fail - This was the surprise hit of the year with a brilliant performance by Vikrant Massey. It's also the official entry from India to the Oscars for this year.

4. Jawan - This was the best film of our superstar, Shahrukh Khan, this year. With lots of social messages, this film was an entertaining watch.

5. Janne Jaan - This was a personal favorite as it was based on my favorite book, "Devotion of Suspect X". It also features strong performances by Kareena Kapoor, Vijay Verma, and Jaideep Ahlawat.
