Chennai South constituency is constituency number 3 out of 39 in the state that consists of 6 assembly segments at present (2023). Six assembly segments of the Chennai South Constituency along with its assembly constitution number and the elected members of the legislative assembly are listed below

• Virugampakkam (Constituency# 22) – Mr. A. M. V. Prabhakara Raja
• Saidapet (Constituency# 23) – Mr. Ma. Subramanian
• Thiyagarayanagar (Constituency# 24) – Mr. J. Karunanithi
• Mylapore (Constituency# 25) – Mr. Dha. Velu
• Velachery (Constituency# 26) – Mr. J. M. H. Aassan Maulaana
• Shozhinganallur (Constituency# 27) – Mr. S. Aravind Ramesh

• Virugampakkam – Virugampakkam assembly constitution is 22 and it includes Ward 65 and 128-131 of Greater Chennai Corporation. Mr. A. M. V. Prabhakara Raja of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is elected representative of 2021 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election. 

• Saidapet – Saidapet assembly constitution is 23 and it is covered by Adyar zone (Zone# 13) and Kodambakkam zone (Zone# 10) of Greater Chennai Corporation. Mr. Ma. Subramanian of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is elected representative of 2021 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election. 

• Thiyagarayanagar – Thiyagarayanagar assembly constitution is 24 and it is included in the Kodambakkam zone (zone# 10) of Greater Chennai Corporation. Mr. J. Karunanithi of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is elected representative of 2021 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election. 

• Mylapore – Mylapore assembly constitution is 25 and it is included in the Teynampet zone (Zone# 9) and Adyar zone (Zone# 13) of Greater Chennai Corporation. Mr. Dha. Velu of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is elected representative of 2021 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election. 

• Velachery – Velachery assembly constitution is 26 and it is included in the Adyar zone (Zone# 13) and Perungudi zone (Zone# 14) of Greater Chennai Corporation. Mr. J. M. H. Aassan Maulaana of the Indian National Congress (INC) is elected representative of 2021 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election. 

• Shozhinganallur – Shozhinganallur assembly constitution is 27 and it includes Ward 192-200 of Greater Chennai Corporation. Mr. S. Aravind Ramesh of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is elected representative of 2021 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election. 

Member of Parliament (MP)

Dr. T. Sumathy (a) Thamizhachi Thangapandian is the elected Member of Parliament to Lok Sabha from Chennai South Constituency. Besides her political career, Thamizhachi Thangapandian is a well-known writer, lyricist, and social activist. She made significant contributions to the Tamil literature and was awarded “Pavendhar Bharathidasan Virudhu” in 2009.
