Is Ujjwala Gas Cylinder Free?

The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) monetary assistance of rupees 1600 to women from both BPL (Below Poverty Line) and APL ( Above Poverty Line) ration card-holder households. Its purpose is to furnish LPG gas connections to all the APL and BPL households across the nation by 2023.

Benefits of Scheme 

1. The Indian Government furnishes economic assistance of rupees 1600 for a 14.2 keg cylinder. In the case of a 5 kg cylinder, an amount of rupees 1150 is provided under the PMUY scheme.
2. A security deposit of rupees 1250 is provided for a 14.2 if cylinder and rupees 800 is equipped for a 5 kg cylinder.
3. For the pressure regulator, an amount of rupees 150 is allotted.
4. For the LPG hose pipe, an amount of rupees 100 is provided.
5. Rupees 25 is given for the domestic gas consumer card.
6. For the installation, inspection, and demonstration charges Rupees 75 is covered under this scheme.
7. In addition to these, the beneficiary will get the first LPG refill, a stove free of charge with a deposit-free connection furnished by the OMC – Oil Marketing Company.

Eligibility Criteria

●     The beneficiary must be a female who wishes to apply for this scheme.

●     To qualify for the PMUY scheme, the woman beneficiary must have completed 18 years old.

●     The beneficiary must fall into the below-poverty category.

●     Women who apply should not have an LPG connection.

●     The beneficiary must have a bank account.

Application Process

●     Visit the official website.

●     On the homepage, select ‘Apply for New Ujjwala Connection 2.0.’

●     Go to the next page and click on the tab for the gas provider, Now select ‘Click here to apply.’

●     Fill in the details for the new connection in the application form.

●     Download and print the form.

●     Give all the information requested such as your name, birth date, and residential address.

●     Provide all the important documents along the form.

●     After verification of the form and documents, the enrollment of Ujjwala Yojana will be done.

How to Apply Offline

●     Download the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana form from the official website.

●     Fill out the application form with the exact details.

●     Bind all the necessary documents to the form.

●     Propose the application form and papers to the gas agency.

●     After confirmation of the application form and papers by the gas agency official, the gas connection will be allocated within 10 to 15 days.
